ACTIVITIES & EVENTS

At St Catherines Nursing Home we employ our own Activity Co-ordinators who plan and organises both daily activities and larger events. They are assisted by our Activities Committee, made from Residents, Relatives and other staff members.

Our Activity Co-ordinator meets with every resident and their family and develops an individual plan to meet their personal needs.

 

Various activities are organised and a sample is listed below. This however is constantly changing depending on the needs and wishes of the current residents.

 

• Regular group sessions such as crafts, gardening, cookery, bingo, quizzes, music and reminiscence

• Individual sessions for those unable and those who prefer not to join with group activities. These may include crosswords, reading books/newspapers, looking at photo albums and memory boxes.

• Trips to the town for shopping or just coffee and cake.

• Large events. We have parties for special occasions eg  Valentines Day,  Mothers Day, Easter and many more. Outside entertainers come in and sing or perform and friends and families are all invited.

• We also have visits from other community groups such as the Salvation Army band, local Morris Men, Police Cadets and many more.
